Allergy testing

A runny nose, sneezing, rashes, itching, headaches and asthma are all common allergic reactions.

If you think you might be suffering from an allergy, you can have your symptoms investigated during a consultation, usually by having a simple blood test.

This blood sample will then be sent to our lab for testing and analysis by an immunologist. Results will take between two and three working days to come back and we’ll be able to confirm any common substances you might be allergic to such as nuts, cereal, dust or pet hair.

You can choose to be tested for single allergens, costing from £31, or select from our allergy profiles:

UK allergy profile test £154
Nuts and seeds allergy test £313
Food allergy test £220
Fin and shell fish allergy test (combined) £159
Cereal allergy test £116
Gluten allergy test £268
Milk and milk protein allergy test £175
Stone fruit allergy test £175
Insects allergy test £141

If you’re unsure what is causing your allergy, we would advise you to start with the UK allergy profile. It will test for common causes including:

  • Cod
  • Egg white
  • Peanut
  • Cocksfoot
  • Meadow fescue
  • Cat dander
  • Cow’s milk
  • Soya bean
  • Wheat
  • Latex
  • Meadow
  • Timothy grass
  • House dust mite

Any of the allergy tests listed can be performed in a simple £25 nurse/phlebotomy only appointment or in a £55 GP consultation for a full consultation and follow-up. You can discuss with our GPs the best test for you, and there’s no obligation to have one.
