We provide role-specific medicals for certain jobs including Driver medicals (Bus, HGV and Taxi), as well as ‘Fitness to travel’ and visa medicals.

Driver medicals

As a driver, you are required by law to be fit to carry out your duties on the road. It helps you to perform your job competently and prevents accidents.

Driver medical assessments are undertaken at the practice and take just 30 minutes. You will need to bring your glasses prescription (if relevant), evidence of any medications you are currently taking (including dosage), details of any recent medical investigative tests/results and your GP summary. Please bring a print out from your GP records covering the previous 2 years.

We also need to see one form of ID (passport or driving licence).

Fitness to travel and visa medicals

If you have to travel abroad (and have a pre-existing medical condition), many airlines are now requesting proof that you are ‘fit to fly’.

We will assess your overall fitness to fly and we will confirm this on the application form given to you by the airline. Please send this form to us in advance and bring your GP summary to the appointment.

Some countries may also require you to have a medical before they allow you entry. These are called visa medicals and, once again, can be performed at our practice. Please send us a copy of your visa medical application form in advance and bring your GP summary to the appointment.
